ETS dead – see here, here, here

A motion proposed that the ETS legislation should be delayed for three months, and if this could not be secured, then the legislation should be defeated. The motion was carried by 54 votes to 29, guaranteeing the death of the Rudd Government’s ETS.

Voice your opinion to Liberal senators who still support the ETS;

ACT senator Gary Humphries, senator.humphries@aph.gov.au,

Marise Payne of NSW, senator.payne@aph.gov.au,

Queenslanders Sue Boyce, senator.sue.boyce@aph.gov.au,

George Brandis, senator.brandis@aph.gov.au,

South Australian Simon Birmingham, senator.birmingham@aph.gov.au,

Victorians Michael Ronaldson, senator.ronaldson@aph.gov.au,

Judith Troeth, senator.troeth@aph.gov.au

Letter sent to senators as follows;  “The ETS is being tried to be rammed through at 1 second to midnight by the Rudd government with no transparency, accountability or duty of care to the Australian people. It has neither been properly explained nor its full implications outlined or communicated to us. It is a draconian bill that will decimate our economy whilst having no reasonable benefit for the environment. As an Australian citizen I implore you in the spirit of democracy as one of our elected representations at the very least to allow for due diligence and defer this bill for 3 months as has been carried by the Liberal Party vote. We as your constituents deserve at least this.”

The climate has changed in politics. The populace is no longer willing to accept the brainwashing of global warming alarmism. As the global warming religion continues to be exposed as fraud the people are speaking up and saying no we do not want climate communism and any leader that supports climate alarmism will be deposed. Its time to stop the carbon taxes, little green lies and time to stop the Copenhagen gravy train!

Great news, not just that the ETS is dead, but that its demise and the debate over it may throw some light on why politicians are under such immense pressure to act. WTF is going on ?

The emergency is ovre, the planet’s cooling, the science behind the phoney crisis is discredited, so why, why why FFS are they so keen to sell us up the green river ?

  2. Tony Hansen says:

Can anyone be sure that enough Libs will not cross the floor or that the Greens might now change their position and vote with Labor just to get something through?

  3. Mike Justus says:

I’m happy but i’m also cautiously optimistic. KRudd is hellbent on bringing Australia to it’s knees, and if the ETS is put on the backburner then i’d imagine KRudd will push for a referendum on Australia becoming a (socialist) republic. Horrible creature, Australia’s worst. God help us all while he’s still around.

  4. twawki says:

As I understand it the secret ballot that was carried by around 2:1 is now the official position of the party. Be great now to start getting the other side of the climate debate more into the public realms so people can make an educated decision on Labor!

  5. Dave Broad says:

Tony Abbott is the best man for the job. His focus, commitment & timing are all first class. He is the guy to clearly communicate the skeptics understanding & opposition to AGW. Australian politics has been turned on it’s head & the borders have been redrawn thanks to Tonys actions over a few short days. The guy is a political genius. The critical element now is for the msm to give him a fair hearing. The revolution starts today & you Aussies should be rightfully proud.

  6. twawki says:

Yes I think he is a true leader without an ego – a refreshing change. We are 🙂 Its just one step in many. I dont think the MSM will give him a fair go, as they still refuse to give Climategate a fair go or global realism. Its going to be up to people power, the likes of us to stand up and do something and create the world we want to live in.

  7. Deet says:

This is surprising news. Hopefully the party will back their new leader and not cross the floor, or all could have been in vain. Now we need more attention on whats REALLY happening with climate and the ‘ science ‘ or lack there of regarding the IPCC’s reports. I wish I could have seen and heard Krudd go off over the result. He must be mega *issed. lol

We got in early on that at our home site. I’m here at Coomera in Queensland, and I’m the editor at this U.S. site.
I posted on it as it happened, and it looks like it’s getting good coverage there in the U.S. already.
