This Kiwi wishes you well, signing off for the year. his seems appropriate…

““I have only one firm belief about the American political system, and that is this: God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat. God is an elderly or, at any rate, middle-aged male, a stern fellow, patriarchal rather than paternal and a great believer in rules and regulations. He holds men strictly accountable for their actions. He has little apparent concern for the material well-being of the disadvantaged. He is politically connected, socially powerful and holds the mortgage on virtually everything in the world. God is difficult. God is unsentimental. It is very hard to get into God’s heavenly country club. Santa Claus is another matter. He’s cute. His nonthreatening. He’s always cheerful. And he loves animals. He may know who’s been naughty and who’s been nice, but he never does anything about it. He gives everyone everything they want without thought of a quid pro quo. He works hard for charities, and he’s famously generous to the poor. Santa Claus is preferable to God in every way but one: There is no such thing as Santa Claus.” PJ O’Rourke, Parliament of Whores

John 3:16 (New International Version (©1984))
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Not difficult, even for those we may find unlovely.

    PJ O’Rourke should investigate further.

We are constantly being told, rightly, to ‘rise up’ against this madness. But how?
Well, here’s a very small thing we can all do – and I’ve already done it.
    1. If you don’t know the name of your local political representative/member of parliament/congress/whatever, for your area, do a little Googling and find out.
    2. Go to their website (they all have them) and find their email address or link on the site to send email
    3. Email your representative, detailing your concerns about the lack of transparent science, the lack of respect to scientific views and theories opposing the AGW/CO2 theory, the way the climate is being described as in ‘crisis’ for which the only solution is to grant Governments ever more power over its citizens to control our lives. Mention that when Governments announce a crisis and then uses said crisis to justify the bypassing of basic democratic processes, that is a reason to be alarmed – history teaches us as much. Mention you are extremely concerned about political moves towards ‘global governance’ as mentioned in the Copenhagen treaty. Ask your representative what their position is on all of these issues, especially in the light of the Climategate revelations, which in spite of politicians’ and mainstream media’s attempts to suggest ‘do not change any of the conclusions’, are in reality extremely disturbing to all freedom-loving people.

I haven’t worded this here very well – I’m sure many people can come up with something better. But just voice your concerns.
I sent an email a few days ago, and received an acknowledgement email from my MP’s office the next day (asking for my full address – which, much as that concerned me, I decided to give, in the assumption that I am to receive a written response in the mail). Act now, send an email. Many thanks.

What do you think?
