The world as we know it

The balance of reporting science

“To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and little mention of any doubts one might have. Each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective, and being honest.”Dr Stephen Schneider, Oct 1989

It seems balance is a word the the climate lobby and their MSM surrogates are openly adverse to. Previously we heard the alarmists say “climate reporting is ‘too balanced’ , and now the alarmists are saying “false balance is required” (that’s a conundrum if I ever heard one). And also we recently hear they are claiming the right to discriminate against coal industry shrills (oh that’s us BTW) because of journalistic balanceSince when is balance about denying freedom of speech to those you disagree with. I’d also call this the abuse of power and abuse of civil rights.

However in welcoming news the media is starting to turn, big journalism (aka MSM) is making some interesting statements. More scientists also are beginning to speak out about climategate, see WUWT. I guess as scientists see the continual fabrication of data – like the latest – Bolivia shown to be a hot spot in the world but oops when checked there are no temperature stations in Bolivia. The Met Office continues its propaganda with claims warmest year ever means temperatures will remain flat – another worthless conundrum (oh and I’ll have that performance bonus thanks says the Met Office head). Its reasonable to believe the current record cold is proof of  cold, but the chicken littles continue to tell us even though its cooling its still warming. Lots of us still remember the climategate themes of hide the decline and beefing up the alarmist ‘facts‘ – so credibility is something the alarmists and their media lap dogs no longer have on their side.

It would seem alarmist heaven is anything but rational or sensible, let alone transparent or accountable. And they want to control the finances of the world. Reality check – NO! Metaphorically speaking it looks like the alarmist brigade soon wont have any fingers left to cross!

In other good news Neutralpedia to replace biased Wikipedia. Cap and trade supporters exposed.

The Yin and the Yang of climate alarmism today is balanced scientific analysis, balanced reporting and balanced political strategies by people out of balance. Lao Tzu would have a field day with these charlatans. The reason why China won’t swallow any of it? You bet!!

China, Russia, India – lots of Countries dont like it. How does Taoism in general respond to it?

  3. Treeman says:

twawki, my post was written more in jest. It should have read “Lao Tzu would have had a field day” with the charlatans but suggest Taoism of any era delights in the ability of the planet to balance itself and emphasises the futility of man’s obsessions. My first encounter with Taoism was 35 years ago and since then I’ve seen many doomsday myths and hoaxes falter and fizzle out. Modern day climate alarmism is on the cusp being utterly discredited. This was always going to happen. Delighted will be the ones who have been sceptical all along. Irrelevant will be those who shrieked the loudest and shrillest. Northern hemisphere freezing suggests the planet is one step ahead of us all!

Haha bit hard to tell in writing 🙂 Yeah agreed nature knows best – to think we can rule it is crazy and it will be here long after we are gone. Interesting days ahead – wouldnt like to be an alarmist right now! But then could be worse – could be someone stuck perilously in the cold – that is the tragedy of it all!

Oh me Oh my! did you see the picture of England taken from space today? solid ice and snow from one end to the other.Try telling the Brits who are freezing that the world is warming! We here in Canada are freezing as usual, But we’re supposed to have a pineapple express by Wednesday, there goes our summer water supply.
I always thought that the business of news was to keep us informed, NOT form our opinions for us.

    • twawki says:

Like I say Bev just watch those temps – dont want to have to come over there and dig you out from under a 2km thick ice sheet! Whats the pineapple express?

Have you been tried to make your topic just about this post really predicate with the help of the article submit service? If not, I would like to propose to choose the paid article submission sites! I hope that my proposition would help!

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. RONALD REAGAN,

If you want to be free, there is but one way; it is to guarantee an equally full measure of liberty to all your neighbors. There is no other. Carl Schurz
The First Amendment is often inconvenient. But that is besides the point. Inconvenience does not absolve the government of its obligation to tolerate speech. Justice Anthony Kennedy
Self-reliance is the only road to true freedom, and being one’s own person is its ultimate reward. Patricia Sampson
Many politicians are in the habit of laying it down as a self-evident proposition that no people ought to be free till they are fit to use their freedom. The maxim is worthy of the fool in the old story who resolved not to go into the water till he had learned to swim. Thomas Macaulay
The law will never make men free, it is men that have to make the law free. Henry David Thoreau
